This afternoon as I was leaving school, my dear friend extended the invitation to go pick strawberries. She's invited us and encouraged me to take M before, but something (hospital visits, miscarriages, life) always seems to get in the way. Today, I said "why not?" We didn't have plans. I had no idea what to expect.
M caught on right away. Grab those beautiful red balls and PULL until they pop loose. Each some, put some in the bucket.
I can not begin to tell you how beautiful all the berries were. If I could post 25 pictures, I would. I've never seen strawberries so red, so plump.

Oh my goodness, those strawberries look delicious!! I wish there was a place around here that WE could do that!
Yummy! I just ate a bowl full of strawberries myself.
And yippee for spontaneous field trips! We actually went to the zoo spur of the moment on Tuesday because a mom of one of Zoe's school friends looked us up in the phone book to ask if we'd like to join them. I jumped at the chance. We had such a great time. We'll have to try strawberry picking this year too. It looks like you had a great time.
Cute!!! Perfect for photos.
What a great time! I just love her stawberry-stained grin. We have a great strawberry farm near us, and we had planned to go last week but then it ended up being SO miserable and hot that we cancelled...so now I'm just waiting for an open day with nice weather to make a "spontaneous" trip!
Great pictures, Nat!
You can not know how long I have wanted to take A and MEB to do that! I will have to do that some weekend soon! I LOVE the spontaneous things...precious times and photos!
I am so happy to hear about some fun over your way. Those strawberries look yumo. M models them well. :)
This is an activity our friends in the UK always undertook and we never managed to join in on. It makes me feel slightly guilty. Still, my mother never took me so perhaps it's genetic? :-)
But you're right. The spontaneous is often the BEST. No preconceived expectations.
