Sigh of relief

As I read back over the previous two posts, I laugh at myself. I was an emotional basket case, for sure.

Today we got M's new shoes.

No problems. She didn't complain one time. Well, she mentioned that the shoes were a little tight. But she'll get used to that.

She did develop a little blister, but surprisingly, it's on her straight foot, not the club foot. I put a band-aid on the miniscule blister and after a little whining, she was fine. When I was changing her into her pj's, she took the band-aid off right away and was fine after that.

This afternoon, I got a call from "We Fix Feet." (Okay, I made that name up, but I meant the prosthetic company that provided M's shoes).

The message went something like this, "Mrs. Benson, this is Sonya from We Fix Feet. Girl! I should have looked at your check before you left today. You way overpaid us. Give me a call ASAP."

WHAT?!?!

When I was leaving the facility, Sonya was on the phone. She wrote the amount I owed on a sticky note and gave it to me. I filled out my check, handed it to her, and left (well, after she put her call on hold and gave M some stickers for being such a good patient!).

So I called right back.

Our conversation went like this:

Me: Sonya, this is Natalie. What do you mean I overpaid you?
Sonya: GIRL! Your check was way more than you owed.
Me: What? How did that happen?
Sonya: Girl, I don't know. You wrote your check for $183.12, but the shoes were only (ONLY!!!) $83.12.
Me: Laughing. Are you kidding me?? I misread your note. Okay, tear that check up and I'll have H bring you another one tomorrow.
Sonya: This is your lucky day, I guess!

I breathed a huge sigh of relief.
The shoes were affordable.
M adjusted well.

God sure is good. He provides. If only I'd be still and let Him.

Sorry the photo is sideways. I thought I fixed if in PSE--but my computer is acting up. Isn't that shoe just adorable? The other one is just as cute. M loves jumping in her new shoes because the "clump" around.
