Eight facts/habits

I've been tagged for the 8 Things Meme that is making the rounds. My friend Kyla over at The Journey tagged me. You can catch up with Kyla and the Tar children at http://khebert.blogspot.com/

The rules:
A. Each player lists 8 facts/habits about themselves.
B. The rules of the game are posted at the beginning before those facts/habits are listed.
C. At the end of the post, the player then tags 8 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog.

Okay, so here are eight facts or habits about me.

1.) I sleep on the left side of the bed. I sleep facing away from the edge. This means that I must roll around the bed most of the night so I can check M's monitor every time I wake up. This also means that I get stuck on the bed because the 90 lb. lab sleeps curled up in the crook of my legs and H sleeps on top of the covers. I'm surprised I don't end up black and blue after fighting my way out of my cocoon each night.

2.) I'm not a morning person at all. I'm pretty crabby until I brush my teeth and take my shower. I like to press the snooze button at least twice before getting up. Remember the whole stuck in bed issue? I have to get OUT of bed to hit the snooze button. Mornings are not a pretty sight.

3.) I wash my hair every day. Sometimes I use my own shampoo. Sometimes I use H's shampoo. Just depends on how I want my hair to smell.

4.) I get my hair cut EVERY 6 WEEKS TO THE DAY. Why? I have no idea because I don't have good hair and I don't bother to fix it at least half the time. But I love my hairdresser. I need my Gil fix, I guess. I feel like a princess for the few minutes we spend together. He'd better make me feel like a princess as much as I pay him.

5.) When I scrapbook or craft, I measure everything. EVERYTHING. When I sew, I don't measure anything.

6.) I don't drink while I eat. I like to wait until I eat all my food and then I'll have something to drink.

7.) I'm left-handed, but I don't drag my hand across the writing on a page. I'm very particular to hold my hand up so ink doesn't get smeared all over the side of my fist. I also don't "hook" my hand when I write. I write just like a right-handed person, but with my left hand. Speaking of being left-handed, the only thing I do right-handed is cut. I've never been able to use left-handed scissors, so I cut with my right hand. I'm not a very talented cutter.

8.) When I read, I become oblivious to life outside of the print on the page. H has learned that he must say my name to get my attention when I'm reading. Before M, I could devour a novel in one day. Since M, I haven't read many novels! Between graduate reading and M's reading, I just don't have much time to read for pleasure.

There are eight facts or habits about me.

Seeing how I don't have TOO many blog friends, I'm tagging anyone who reads this. Christina, Stacy, Melody...it's your turn, if you'd like to play along. You might be too busy...that's fine. If you're looking for a topic to post, try this out.

What do you mean you don't measure when you sew?? Haven't you heard, "measure twice, cut once"? ;) Oh, and I'm not a morning person either. I remember the good ole days when I could actually sleep in...ah, sweet memories!

Ahh, another fun "about me" meme! I am totally not a morning person either. Thank God my kid isn't one to wake at the crack of dawn! I'm actually the opposite with reading, though. I'll be watching tv, reading a book, and keeping an eye on Nadia all at the same time. I sometimes have to re-read the same page 10 times, tho, so I'm not reading too many books these days either. I still need to read "The Red Tent" that you reccomended!

I will play and most my own "8 facts"...but I'm not promising it'll happen in the next couple days!

I'm no morning person, either. And #7 is me, too! Except that I do drag my hand a bit...but no hook hand. I always think it is weird to see lefties doing that. People always compliment my hand writing, "It is very good for a lefty." as if we are supposed to be sub-par at handwriting. *scoff* Hahaha!

I am NOT a morning person either. My mom used to reach quietly inside my door, flip the light switch, call my name and RUN!! My DH refuses to wake me. I don't hear alarms clocks at all. But I hear every heavy breath my sons make and it wakes me. :)

And I must have my hair cut and colored *gasped* every five weeks to the day. Natalie, I think we'd get along nicely.

I did the 8 things meme already...somewhere on my blog...I swear I did.
