Nov. 5 (MBS)

These are most definitely not MBS, but the story that goes with them qualifies.
These images so depict where M is in life right now. Completely yearning for independence, but not quite brave enough yet.
"No, Mommy. ME!"
So I let her go...all by herself, up those tall, tall steps to the big, BIG, BIG! slide.
About 2/3 of the way up (two or three steps after first image), she started crying, but it was too late then.
She had to finish by herself.
And she did.
With lots of sobbing and squeezing tight at the bottom.
A sucker fixed it all.
My sweet baby so wants to do everything by herself, but she's still MY BABY. I'm trying to let go and she's trying to go. Somehow, we keep finding ourselves squeezing tight at the end. And I am so thankful.

The letting go is such a struggle for child and parent. With your loving guidance your darling M will do just fine and so will you. It's hard to let them struggle and learn, I know.

M is the cutest flamingo on a slide I've ever seen. Heck, she's just adorable all the time.

That's where we are too... it's hard to let go and squeeze tight all at the same time. It's even harder to know when to do each one.

I really like the photos and the story...plus, I've tried taking pictures of children going down those slides; it's super tricky to get a shot before they zoom right out of the frame! Great job!

Those ARE great shots! Sometimes it's the sentiment behind them that makes them good.

You put that toddler struggle for independecne into words so well! YES! We are there too. It is hard to know how to guide them, when to push and when to coddle.
M is an adorable sliding flamingo...and a precious baby big girl.

But in the struggle for independence, wait til she asks if she can go to the shopping centre with her friends on Saturday.......oh my Gosh.....not yet, not yet!!!!!!!!!!
