MBS

A summer thunderstorm.
A muddy backyard.
A walk around the block.
A priceless afternoon of summer memories.
Check out many more summer memories here.

My sweet friend, Christina, asked her blog readers for some suggestions to improve her blog. Being the nosey person that I am, I read everyone's response and was SHOCKED to read how many people hate the black background, white text. I promptly headed to my own bloggy home and started making some changes. I'm not satisfied yet, but will keep working until I find something I like. I love the picture behind the title, but it's too big--does anyone know how to fix that? To either make it fit the box or make the box smaller (more rectangular)?

Cute shots -- I love her boots!

I was one of the guilty commenters of Christina's that hates white text on a black background. But I forgot that yours was like that since I just read it in my feed reader and only click over to comment, which is always on a white screen anyway!

I love the new header...but I am NO HELP at all when it comes to formatting - but good luck!

To fit correctly it has to be horizontally oriented.

I've heard that about the black background/white text...but I love it so I haven't changed mine yet. LOL.

Nice new design - I love that picture of M! I'm not sure how to format it differently, thus why it'll take a while to get mine all sorted out!! I was surprised by the # of anti-black comments too.

Anyway, the rubber boots splashing in rain puddles? Love it! I need to get N some boots lik that!

Nat,
I LOVE the new heading...I have no clue about making the photo smaller. Mine is really too large as well, and I am not sure how to change it. If you find out, let me know too!
I LOVE these puddle shots! M is just precious, and I can not believe how tall she looks to me. Could it be that she's grown that much since I last saw her?! Call me when you get a chance about lunch; I'd love to catch up with you!

I love the giraffe boots!!! I know we've seen them before... but the boots with the outfit just make them stand out all the more. Love them.

I have to say I never had a problem reading from your dark background. I was surprised by the number of comments Christina got saying it was an issue.

I'm no help with technical issues. There is a website... something like blogger for dummies... that I've googled a couple times. Even that confuses me though. I do love the picture of M in the header though.

I am a huge fan of the boots too - she is going to be spunky just like you! :) And I love your header photo - what a precious little girl you have!

Loved all your posts from your trip home...glad you had such a nice time.

Good luck with the new format...I am of no help because I am still trying to figure out basic things with our blog!

Okay those boots!? To die for! How cute! I LOVE that header picture too and the new colors - not that I'm bothered by black backgrounds - except in the case of non-white text.

People apparently don't like music either. I don't care. But that's another story.

As for the header - no advise really, I resized mine in PhotoShop and added my blog name there.

Firstly, I quite liked your black background and white text. I thought it was very 'you'. Don't know why. Maybe cos that's how it's always been......Nevertheless, the lilac is pretty too and the header picture is so sweet. I had Himself resize my banner in photoshop and actually make it the right size to fit in the blogger banner. You'll find the size of the blogger banner in the part of your blog where you can view it in html. You have to kind of interpret the code. The words 'header' and 'header border' are a bit of a giveaway though! Look for measurements associated with these. The photo though will end up being shrunk or stretched because it's not the right format for a horizontal bar so you may have to think about cutting M out of the picture like Kim does at Cancio and collaging her over the banner. Good luck.
