600 minus 1

ETA:
Kristen is the winner of the card design. The odds were stacked in her favor when she filled my comment sections with her delightful Christmas memories!!! Kristen, e-mail me your favorite picture and I'll get right on designing a card for your precious family!

I thought this would be my 600th post, but alas, I was off one.

To heck with even numbers...I'm doing a giveaway at my 600th - 1 post!

Here's the deal:
Leave a comment sharing one of your favorite Christmas memories OR recipes.
Leave as many comments as you want.
Tonight around 9:00 PM, I'll put numbers (of your comments) in a hat and let H draw one.
If your number is drawn...

**drum roll, please**

I'll design a Christmas card for your family. You send me your favorite picture and I'll use it to design a Christmas card. I'll e-mail you a high quality 5X7 file that you can have printed anywhere.

PS: Don't worry. My designs are MUCH better than the previous two I've posted. And what better practice for me than to use your picture!!!

I'll always remember our white Christmas in Savannah - yellow rose bush blooming in the background!!

Every Christmas Eve after church we watched 'White Christmas' by the fire and drank hot cocoa...never made it through the whole movie...always fell asleep!

Last year, Jackson was soooo excited about every single gift he opened...I mean, you would have thought each one he got was worth a million dollars, which made watching him open them all very fun. The best had to be when he accidently grabbed an empty gift bag, pulled the tissue paper out, and with the biggest smile on his face yelled "Yeah, it's nothing!"

My parents always made my 2 brothers and I wait at the top of the stairs Christmas morning while he got the video camera all set up and ready to catch our reactions when we first walked in to see our loot from Santa(which wasn't wrapped). One Christmas, we apparently didn't show enough enthusiasm about our presents, and my parents sent us back up the stairs to come down again for a 're-take'

Growing up, we traveled every Christmas Eve to my grandparents' house in Rome, GA. We would pack our pjs for the ride home, and would look in the sky for Santa the whole way. I remember my parents always claiming that they say him, and pulling over somewhere while we all sat in the car for a few minutes searching the sky...such excitement for little imaginations :)

Every year, we have Christmas morning brunch at my parents' house. My mom makes yummy breakfast casserole, monkey bread, grapefruit, and fresh squeezed orange juice.

Since my brothers and I have all gotten married, my parents give all the couples a joint gift (usually a nice lump of cash!). But each year my dad comes up with a unique way for us to get our gift. One year he spray painted a bunch of little lunch boxes silver, taped numbers to them, and we played "Deal or No Deal", last year each one of us went through the house on an elaborate scavenger hunt...can't wait to see what he has planned for this Christmas!

When we were younger, my dad would set up his model train collection on a bunch of sawhorses and plywood in the basement. It was the only time he ever got them out, and I was fascinated with them. I can't wait for him to start that tradition with Jackson :)

I love putting the boys in matching and/or coordinating Christmas pjs for Christmas morning...I'll be sad when they get too old for that :(

About once a week beginning in December, after we do bath and pjs with the boys, we make everyone a hot chocolate to go, hop in the car, key up the Christmas music on the i-pod, and go look at Christmas lights.

My family loves wine and my parents have quite a collection. Each Christmas, they give each couple a group of great wines to add to our collection (this is probaly my brothers' and Brad's favorite part of Christmas ;))

I love shopping after Christmas for great deals on Christmas decorations!

Until we all moved out of the house, my parents put up our colored-light tree with all of our ornaments collected or made over the years...it impresses me now, that my mom never replaced that tree with a 'pretty tree' until we were gone. I know have all of my childhood ornaments and put them on Jackson's colored-light tree in his room.

Jackson was born on December 22nd...we came home from the hospital on Christmas Eve. That will always be one of my favorite Christmas memories :)

When I was pregnant (and hormonal) with Jackson, I would sob like a baby every time they played Mariah's "All I Want For Christmas Is You". I still cry every time I hear it...cried tonight when they played it in Michael's, in fact.

I always loved attending the "Hanging of the Greens" program at my church. It was filled with wonderful Christmas music and the congregation watched as the youth hung all the greenery in the sanctuary for Christmas.

I have a new favorite memory of getting some of my friends' yummy gourmet hot chocolate ;)
